The Miles volleyball team has struggled at home this season, entering Wednesday night's match with Rust College with out a victory on its home court.

But the Golden Bears took out their frustrations on an overmatched Bearcats squad by sweeping (25-5, 25-10, 25-10) the first of back-to-back matches to close out the regular season. Miles (7-21) recorded 33 aces against Rust (0-17). Kayla Ford had 10 aces on 19 service attempts while Kamara Daughtry added eight aces on 18 serves.

Miles scored the first 18 points of the first set, then settled in against the Bearcats, using several lineup combinations as they prepare for the SIAC Volleyball Tournament next week. Lauren Moorer served as the primary setter and recorded a game-high eight assists. D'leisha Dent had a game-high four kills and hit .571 while Antwaneisha Green and Genesis Daniels each had three kills and hit .750.

The Golden Bears close out their regular season with a rematch against Rust beginning at 5:30 p.m. They will start the SIAC Volleyball Tournament on Nov. 18 as the West Division's No. 4 seed and will play the top seed from the East Division, Claflin.
