Losing streak hits 8 as Miles falls to Tuskegee
Box Score When a team loses eight straight contests, as Miles has now done after being swept by Tuskegee (26-24, 25-15, 25-18) Thursday evening, it is generally the sign of a team devoid of talent and/or opportunities to make the plays that will give them a victory.
The Golden Bears (4-14, 4-10 SIAC), though, have been close on several occassions during this streak and it was no different against the Golden Tigers (10-8, 8-5). In the first set, Miles led 23-22 but was unable to close the door on Tuskegee. While the Golden Bears struggled in the second set (6-11-18, -.179) and fell behind early in the third, they found themselves within one point at 18-17. But Tuskegee was able to withstand the comeback and finish the sweep.
Eboni Johnson (4-1-10, three digs, one block) and
Kayla Ford (14 assists, three aces, three digs and two kills) paced the Golden Bears, who are off until they compete in the Western Cluster at Spring Hill College on October 16.
