Box Score

One week after being swept by host Albany State at the SIAC Crossover, Miles looked to even the score in its own gym. While the Golden Bears had a much better performace on Saturday, they still did not have enough to handle ASU.

Albany State (8-10, 8-3 SIAC) won the final two sets to defeat the Golden Bears in four sets (25-19, 20-25, 25-20, 25-20) at Knox-Windham Gymnasium. Skyler Johnson had a double-double (11 kills, 11 digs) , Alexus Moore added 11 kills and Kayla Ford had 28 assist, seven digs and two aces for Miles (4-13, 4-9 SIAC), which has lost seven straight matches.

The opening set was very sloppy for both teams but Miles' 13 attack errors made things much easier for the Golden Rams. While Albany State continued to struggle in Set 2, the Golden Bears pulled things together (11-7-25, .160) to even the match.

The final two sets were hotly contested. Miles held the lead in the third set before folding late. In the final set, the Golden Bears fell behind 8-1 but several times were able to get the score to within one. But Albany State was able to hold off Miles to secure the victory.

Tiffany Roesler (31 assists, 15 digs, four aces) and Kristen Randolph (team-hihg 10 kills) paced Albany State. Kamara Daughtry had a team-high 14 digs for Miles, which is off until Oct. 16 when it participates in the Western Division Cluster at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala.
