Lady Bears Cruise Against Selma
Box Score For the struggles that Miles has endured this season, Selma University had provided a respite for the Lady Golden Bears over the last week.
For the second time in six days, Miles dominated Selma en route to a 84-50 win that saw 12 different players score for the Lady Golden Bears (4-11).
Porshia Blue scored a team-high 18 points and
Ebony McNeill added 15 points off the bench as Miles won for the third time at Knox-Windham Gymnasium. Selma (0-16) got a game-high 26 points from Shameka Hayes but the short-handed Bulldogs - who dressed just six players -Â fell behind early and did not threaten after the early minutes.
Selma's lack of size opened the interior for Miles, which took full advantage. The Lady Golden Bears had 20 offensive rebounds that led to 18 points and 60 total, outrebounding the Bulldogs by 32. Foul trouble and a short bench also allowed Miles to move freely offensively and led to some wide open looks.
It wasn't a runaway for Miles in the early going. Selma kept the deficit in the single digits for the first nine minutes. But a 21-4 run over the next eight minutes had the Lady Golden Bears ahead by oredmore than 20 points and they went into the half with a 46-27 lead. Miles would spend most of the second half shuttling players in and out as the bench scored 44 points.
