Golden Bears Can't Find Offense in Loss to Benedict
Box Score Miles had come close in its last two contests to breaking its long losing streak. But Monday night at home against Benedict, the Golden Bears had trouble putting the ball in the basket, shooting just 31 percent from the floor in a 63-46 loss to the Tigers that sent the team's skid to 11 games.

Maiscei Grier was 1-of-10 from the field and was only able to muster nine points. Four players scored in double figures for Benedict (6-5, 4-1) - three off the bench - led by Deonte Johnson's 17 points.
The Golden Bears had the lead on several occasions in the first half but never led by more than two points at any point. The offense did a good job getting some open looks but were unable to convert, shooting just 6-of-24 over the opening 20 minutes as Benedict led 29-16 at halftime.

Patrick Jackson (eight points) in the early portion of the second half brought the Golden Bears to within six points. But the Tigers would score the next seven points, the last two on a fast break layup by Johnson that pushed the Benedict lead back to 40-27. Miles would not get the deficit under 10 points the remainder of the night.
Nahum Lockett added seven points and four rebounds for the Golden Bears, who play the first of three straight road games at Fort Valley State on Thursday night. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
