LADY BEARS VOLLEYBALL GO 0-4 AT UAH CLASSIC

Box Score 4 HUNTSVILLE, AL – The Lady Bears opened up the 2014 volleyball campaign at the University of Alabama-Huntsville Classic going 0-4 during the two day event.
On Friday, Miles College dropped their first match of the classic to Trevecca Nazarene University (Tenn.) 3-0 (25-10, 25-12, 25-11). MC was led by
Briana Gatlin who finished with eight kills and two blocks while
Ladattisha McKinstry had 16 assist in the losing effort.
In the second match of the day the Lady Bears fell to classic host UAH in straight sets 3-0 (25-6, 25-6, 25-15).
Reaucheandra Matthews finished with a 3 kills while Gatlin led the way again with 4 kills.
On Saturday Miles ended the two day classic with consecutive losses to Southwest Baptist and Ouachita Baptist respectively in straight sets 3-0. Gatlin had a team-high 16 kills and McKinstry finished with 27 assist in the two games.
The Lady Bears return to action Monday, October 8, for the 2014 home opener against Oakwood University at the Birmingham CrossPlex. First serve is set for 5:30 p.m.
