WEST GEORGIA DEFEATS GOLDEN BEARS, 31-7

Box Score CARROLLTON, GA - The University of West Georgia defeated Miles College, 31-,7 infront of a crowd of 6,741 at University Stadium in Carrollton, Ga.
The Golden Bears fell to (0-2) while the Wolves improved to (2-0).
For the second consecutive week MC got on the board first on a three yard run by senior runningback
Floyd Graves that capped a 14-play, 66 yard opening drive to take an early 7-0 lead.
Miles held on to the lead before UWG erupted for 21 second quarter points, highlighted by two touchdown runs by runningback Quan Jones and a 48 yard interception touchdown return by Donovan Jackson giving West Georgia a 21-7 halftime lead.
After a scoreless third quarter, the Wolves capped a 12 play, 59 yard drive with a 35-yard field goal by M Bardenwerper, extending the UWG lead to 24-7. With less than two minutes left in the ball game, Wolves running back scampered into the endzone from 28 yards out closing out the scoring and giving West Georgia the 31-7 win.
MC finished with 260 yards of total offense. The defense was led by junior defensive back Tyrell Kinder who finished with six tackles and one intercetion, while senior linebacker
Julantate English finished with 12 tackles (8 solo) and one tackle for loss and
Keenan Clark finished with 12 stops (6 solo).
The Golden Bears return to action next Saturday, September 21, as they host Concordia-Selma College at Albert J. Sloan-Alumni Stadium in Fairfield, Ala. Kick-off is set for 6 p.m.
