MILES SOFTBALL TEAM STAY UNDFEATED IN CONFERENCE PLAY
Box Score JASPER, AL (March 15, 2013) – The Miles College Lady Bears (11-10; 8-0) softball team stayed undefeated after day two of conference play in the SIAC Softball Crossover Tournament in Jasper, AL from Mach 14-16, 2013. Mile defeated Claflin University 11-2 at 12:00 noon in game one and Fort Valley State University in game two 10-4 at 2:00 on Friday, March 15 at Memorial Park.
Game one, freshman pitcher
Talana Brown (Butler, AL) picked up the win for Miles, while allowing two earned runs in seven innings of action. Brown gave up seven hits, three strikeouts and two walks batters. Erin Lipps got the loss in seven innings pitched and 11 runs allowed, off ten hits and eight base-on-balls.
Senior outfielder
Terri Roberts (Prattville, AL) led the team with three RBI's, a triple, stolen base and hit-by-pitch twice. Senior infielder
Tiffany Roberts (Prattville, AL) had two RBI's, senior infielder
Kendra O'Neal (Talladega, AL) one RBI and two hits. Junior infielder
Brianna Barrentine (Oakman, AL), junior outfielder
Stephanie Woods (Jasper, AL) both had two hits apiece.
Miles scored five runs in the second inning, two in the third and four more in the seventh, while Claflin scored one run each in the fourth and six innings.
Game two, senior pitcher
Amanda Talley (6-4) went seven innings with four runs given up (two earned) on four hits and three strikeouts. His win was Talley's six straight conference win. Ashley Parmer picked up the loss in six innings thrown.
Senior infielder
Tiffany Roberts (Prattville, AL) paced the Lady Bears with four RBI's, two hits, two runs scored, one homerun and a stolen base. O'Neal had two RBI's,

Katie Haistens (Sylacauga, AL) had one RBI each.
The Lady Bears scored two runs in the first, six in t second and two in the six. Fort Valley State scored one run each in the second and third and two in the six.
Miles will play Benedict College at 10 a.m. and Paine College at 4 p.m. tomorrow in Jasper, AL
