Box Score FRANKFORT, KY (January 26, 2013) – The Miles College Lady Bears (5-12; 1-6) basketball team dropped their six conference game to Kentucky State University (6-10; 4-5) by a score of 68-51 on Saturday afternoon, January 26 in Frankfort, KY.

Shierkerriea Nelson (Washington County, GA) led the Miles in scoring with 22 points. Nelson scored on 8-of-16 shots from the field, 1-of-1 from behind the arc, 5-of-6 at the free throw line, one assist and two steals in 38 minutes of play. Senior power forward
Courtney English (Atmore, AL) grabbed a team-high 9 rebounds and 11 points and junior point guard
Enria Samuels (Marietta, GA) added 9 points, 3 assist.
Sharnita Lloyd had 22 points and 8 boards to lead Kentucky State, while Brielle Newton added a game-high 10 rebounds and 12 points.
Miles scored on 32.7% (17-of-52) of its shots from the field, but hit only 1-of-4 three pointers and made 16-of-28 (57.1%) free shots at the line. Kentucky State made 43.6% of their shots while hitting 77.3% in free throws. Kentucky State out rebounded Miles 44-27, but Miles forced Kentucky State into 21 turnovers.
