ENGLISH NAMED SIAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK (WEEK ONE)
ATLANTA, GA – Julantate English is a 5-9, junior linebacker for the Golden Bears football team and has been named the SIAC Defensive Player of the Week in week one on September 2, 2012. It's the first honor of the season for English and the first for the Miles football team.
The Jacksonville, FL native had 15 tackles (9 solos & 6 assist), one tackle-for-loss, forced two fumbles and returned one fumble in a 30-31 loss to the University of North Alabama this past week. The Golden Bears record is 0-1, as they prepare for a long road trip to Shaw University.

Accomplishments: Nathan Hoyte lead the Albany State University Golden Rams to a 24-12 victory over the North Greenville Crusaders. Hoyte rushed for 194 yards on 19 carries and scored two touchdowns on rushes of 47 and 34 yards for the Rams. He averaged 10.2 yards per carry.

Accomplishments: Jones was key to a Morehouse offense that gained 472 yards, averaged 5.7 yards per play, converted 11-of-19 third-down chances and scored on 4-of-6 trips into the Red Zone.
