MILES WIN THREE GAMES IN LOSER’S BRACKET OF SIAC TOURNAMENT

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 HAMPTON, GA – The Miles College Lady Bears (25-26) softball team win three games on day two of the 2012 SIAC Softball Tournament to stay alive in the loser's bracket with wins over LeMoyne-Owen College (20-2), Albany State University (10-1) and Claflin University (4-2) on Friday at Lovejoy Park in Hampton, GA.

Heather Mitchell won game one for Miles in 5.0 innings pitching while giving up two unearned runs on three hits and seven strikeouts and Amanda Talley won her 8th and 9th game of the season in game two with Albany State and game three Claflin. Amanda only allowed one earned run in two games while throwing nine innings.

Game one, Terri Roberts went 4-for-4 with three RBI's, scored three runs, one homerun and two stolen bases, Tiffany Roberts had one hit, drove in four RBI's, scored four runs, one homerun and a stolen base. Brittany Mitchell was 3-for-3 with five RBI's and scored two times and Takieta Roberts went 2-for-4 with two RBI's.

Game two, Terri Roberts went 3-for-3 with two RBI's and scored twice, while sister Tiffany Roberts had a 3-for-3 day at the plate with five runs batted in and crossed the plate twice.

Game three, Kayla Cox, Tiffany Roberts, and Amanda Talley had two hits and one run apiece and Katie Haister drove in two runs.

Miles will play Tuskegee University at 10 a.m. on Saturday, then 1 p.m. with the win against Kentucky State, before facing Stillman College for the championship.
