MILES LADY BEARS SWEEP DOUBLEHEADER FROM LANE

Box Score 2 FAIRFIELD, AL – The Miles College Lady Bears (19-25; 17-7 SIAC) softball team pounded out twenty six hits in two games, as Miles swept a doubleheader, Saturday over the Lady Dragons of Lane College (10-20; 4-20 SIAC) by scores of 11-3 and 10-1 in Jackson, TN.
Miles starting pitchers
Amanda Talley (6-7) pitched a complete game for the win in game one while allowing three runs (two earned) on ten hits and ten strikeouts, and
Kayla Bowmaster (8-7) in five innings and giving up only one run on three hits, with four strikeouts, as Miles held on to win game two.
In game one,
Tiffany Roberts went 4-for-5 with five RBI's, scored twice, homered and a stolen base, whiles
Kayla Cox was 2-for-4 with one RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base. Four other Lady Bears scored a run and had one hit each.
Miles scored two runs in the first, six in the fourth, one in the six and two more runs in the seventh, while Lane produced two runs in the fourth and one in the six innings.
In game two,
Terri Roberts led the Lady Bears with a 4-for-4 plate day, one RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base.

Kayla Blanchard had two hits and scored a run apiece.
Miles had two runs in the first, six in the third and two runs in the fifth and Lane it's only run in the second inning.
The Lady Bears will play the Lady Dragons again today in the final regular season games, before heading to Atlanta, GA for the SIAC Softball Championship on Thursday.
