LADY BEARS WIN 56-52 OVER WEST FLORIDA

Courtney English (Atmore, AL) led the women's basketball team with a double-double in their 56-50 win over the University of West Florida Saturday afternoon, December 8 at Knox-Windham Gymnasium.
Miles improved its record to 4-3, while West Florida dropped to 2-7 on the season.
The two teams went back and forth in the first half as they tied the score six times and lead changed 11.
English paced the Lady Bears with 7 points in the first half off 3-for-4 shooting from the free throw line and senior center
Ra'Shawne Cox (Kennesaw, GA) grabbed six rebounds.
Raquel Miller, Jaymie Druding and Hanna Vette hit six points apiece for West Florida and Druding added five boards.
Miles scored on 11-of-43 (25.6 percent) shots from the field while making 4-of-5 free throws. West Florida made 11-of-30 (36.7 percent) shots from the floor and scored on 4-of-6 shots at the foul line.
English led Miles with a game-high 15 points and 14 rebounds, as she made 6-of-13 shots, 3-of-4 free throws, three steals and blocked one shot. Junior point guard
Enria Samuels (Marietta, GA) chipped in 11 points and freshman guard
Rone' Francis (Ozark, AL) had seven points. Cox added 8 points, 7 rebounds and two blocks.
Vette led the Lady Argonauts with 12 points and Druding racked up a double-double 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Miles will be back in action on Monday, December 17, 2012 as they travel to play these same Universit of West Florida Lady Agonauts in Pensacola, FL a 11 a.m.
