Courtney English spotted the Miles College Lady Bears (2-1) basketball team with a season high double-double 21 points and 12 rebounds in Miles 50-62 loss to the University of West Alabama Lady Tigers (3-0) Tuesday night at Pruitt Hall gym in Livingston, AL.
Miles was limited to 13 points in the first half hitting just 27% of its shots from the floor, while West Alabama shot 42% to take a 41-13 lead to the locker room.
Miles turned up the heat in the second half with a full-court press that forced 23 second-half turnovers by West Alabama. During one stretch in the final period West Alabama went over five minutes without scoring.
English made 3-of-7 free throws, 3 steals and 2 assist. Senior center
Ra'Shawne Cox scored 9 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and blocked one shot and junior point guard
Enria Samuels added 7 points.
The Lady Bears will welcome the same Lady Tigers to Fairfield on Tuesday, November 27 at 6 p.m.
