SIAC HONORS THREE MILES PLAYERS AS PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

In week eight of football action, the SIAC (Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) honored three players from the Miles College Golden Bears football team as Players of the Week. 

Floyd Graves is a 5-8, 180, freshman, running back on the Golden Bears football team. Graves was named SIAC Newcomer of the Week in week eight for game played on October 20, 2012. It's the first honor of the season for Graves and the 7th for the Miles football team.

The Newton, MS, native rushed for 153-yards on 15 carries, two touchdowns, 1 catch for 12-yards and returned one kickoff for 11-yards while turning in a 176-yard day as #18 Miles College defeat Lane College 38-20

Monterio Taylor is a 6-1, 287, offensive lineman, senior on the Golden Bears football team. Taylor was named Offensive Lineman of the Week in week eight for game played on October 20, 2012. It's the first honor of the season for Taylor and the 8th for the Miles football team.

The Lawrence County, MS, native led #18 ranked Golden Bears offensive line to 505-yards of total offense, while holding down the left guard position. Taylor graded out at98% in the 38-20 victory over Lane College, as they allowed the Golden Bears offense to rush for 412-yards and pass for another 93-yards.

Devonta Parker-Johnson is a 5-9, 174, sophomore, running back on the Golden Bears football team. Parker-Johnson was named SIAC Offensive Player of the Week in week eight for game played on October 20, 2012. It's the first honor of the season for Parker-Johnson and the 6th for the Miles football team.

The Millry, AL, native led #18 ranked Miles College with 193-yards on 17 carries in rushing and one touchdown as the Golden Bears rushed for 412-yards in a 38-20 win over Lane College.

Miles overall record is 7-1 and 5-0 in SIAC play, as the Golden Bears prepare for Thursday, October 25 game in Fairfield, AL with Stillman College (4-4; 3-2) at 6 p.m.
