NORMAN LEAD LADY BEARS OVER ALLEN UNIVERSITY
COLUMBIA, SC – Junior guard
Charlesia Norman scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Miles College Lady Bears (5-4; 2-3) basketball team in victory over Allen University (0-8) 74-32 today on the campus of Allen. The win gets the team back on the winning track after dropping a heart breaker to West Alabama earlier in the week.
Miles shot 34.9 percent (22-of-63) from the floor, 37.5 percent in 3-pointers and 75.0 percent (21-of-28) of made free throws, while Allen hit 13-of-40 (32.5%) shots and 9-of-20 free throws for 45.0 percent.
Both team finished with 35 rebounds apice and Miles turned the ball over 10 times to 32 for Allen.
Norman added five steals and sank 6-of-7 free throws and junior guard
Toccara Charles chipped in 12 more points, four rebounds and stole four balls. Sophomore center
Sammeika Thomas grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds, while blocking six shots and senior point guard
Ashley Orphey and freshman guard
Enria Samuels scored 9 points each. Orphey had a game-high five assist and freshman guard
Mariah Eades added 8 points and junior forward Kammishaw Shaw# pulled down another 7 boards.
Jessica Jenkins led Allen in scoring with 8 points and Alexis Smith with 6 rebounds.
