MILES DROP GAME TO KENTUCKY WESLEYAN
The Golden Bears overall record is 3-7; 3-5 in conference play and the Panthers improve to 4-5 on the season.
Miles got on the scoreboard in the second quarter with 4:37 left on a 49 yard keeper by Hill (
Patton Chambers PAT good). Miles would not score again until the fourth quarter, as they put up 21 points. Sophomore running back
Jordan Lewis scored from 1-yard out, sophomore wide receiver
Jerromy Mardis returned KWC punt for 68 yards and Hill topped the scoring off with an 8 yard run (
Patton Chambers PAT's good on all).
Kentucky Wesleyan scored four times in the first quarter on a Darius Henderson 14 yard run, Matt Wilson two field goals from 21 and 25 yards and Damarcus Ganaway 21 yard reception from Chris Owen. The Panthers went to half-up 34-7, after Owen's two passes for 11 yards each to Vincent Lalonde in the second quarter.
Golden Bears sophomore running back Lewis rushed for 58 yards on the day and freshman wide receiver
Christopher Lampley pulled in 8 of Hill's passes for 138 yards. Senior wide receiver
Gerard Benton had 4 catches for 49 yards.
On defense, senior defensive back
Justin Hill led the Golden Bears with 2 interceptions. Junior defensive back
Alex Horton had 11 tackles (9 solo), 2 tackle-for-losses and 1 pass break-up, while sophomore linebacker
Reginald Virges chipped in 7 tackles and 1 pass break-up.
The Golden Bears will round out the season at home with Senior Day on Saturday, November 6 as they host the Maroon Tigers of Morehouse College at 1:00 p.m.
