JACKSON, TN – Miles men’s basketball team dropped a close game to the Dragons of Lane College 76-73 Thursday night at Omar Arena.

Lane led Miles 41-27 at halftime and Miles out scored the Dragons 46-35 in the second half. The Golden Bears shot 42.6% from the field, 40% from the 3-point line and 65.5% at the free throw line. Lane scored on 42.9% of its shots and hit 45.9% from the foul line.

Freshman forward Marcus Coleman (Memphis, TN) led the Golden Bears with a season and game-high 34 points, while grabbing 5 rebounds and hitting 11-of-13 free throws and going 5-of-8 in 3-pointers. Junior point guard Rahim Barnes (Tuscaloosa, AL) added 10 points and junior guard Stormy Pearson (Green County, AL) grabbed a game-high 8 rebounds and scored 9 points.

Rodney Chatman and Pierre Robertson led Lane with 13 points apice.

The Golden Bears will play Kentucky State University in Frankfort, KY on Saturday, February 6 at 3 p.m.
