Atlanta, GA – It was a rainy night in Georgia, as the Miles College Golden Bears football team played a strong defensive game to take a 6-0 win over Clark Atlanta University Panthers Saturday night at Panther Stadium.

Miles put its first and only points on the scoreboard when Corey Robinson (MC) recovered a Justin Greene (CAU) fumble in Clark Atlanta end-zone with .42 seconds left before halftime to give the Golden Bears a 6-0 lead.

Miles (3-2; 3-1) was led by senior running back’s Walter Debbs with 19 rushes for 83 yards and Karell Law 7 carries for 35 yards and 2 catches for 17 yards.

Defensively, Miles limited Clark Atlanta to just 55 yards in the air and 234 yards of total offense. Tobias Wilson had 2 sacks for 15 yard losses and Steven Randerson and Thomas Perkins had 1 sack each. Reginald Virges and Corey Robinson led the team in tackles with 12 each. The Golden Bears picked off Clark Atlanta passers four times, with Justin Hill picking off two, Ernie Tabuteau and Darryl Perry getting one each.

For Clark Atlanta, Winston Thompson rushed 33 times for 155 yards. Justin Greene, Mark Wright and T.J Smith combined completed 6-of 20 passes for 55 yards.

Miles will return to action on Saturday, October 3 at Albert J. Sloan-Alumni Stadium as they play Fort Valley State University Wildcats for homecoming at 1 p.m. Clark Atlanta will host Kentucky State University in a 1:30 game.
