Lady Bears Bounce Back With Win Over Talladega College PDF Print E-mail
Fairfield, AL – Junior guard Cyntonia Jones scored 17 of  her game-high 27 points in the second half to lead three Lady Bears in double figures as they squeaked pass Talladega College 74-73 at Knox-Windham Gymnasium.

Junior forward Cyntauria Jones hit 14 points and pulled down seven rebounds while hitting 5-of-9 shots at the line. Ashley Orphley dished out a game-high 14 assist, 11 points and five rebounds, while sophomore center Bandy Gillespie added nine points and nine rebounds.

Miles (1-1) shot 39 percent (26-of-67) from the floor and 50 percent (17-of-34) from the free throw line for the game. Talladega (3-6) hit 40 percent (26-of-65) from the field and 69 percent (11-of-16) at the foul line. The Lady Bears hit 31 percent of its 3-pointers, while the Lady Tornados scored 36 percent. Talladega would tune the ball over 32 times to Miles 26 and out rebound Miles 49 to 45.

Shakila Cole led five Talladega players in double figures with 16 points and Morgan Bennett had a game-high 14 boards and 14 points.

The Lady Bears will travel to Albany, Georgia on November 29, to take on the Lady Rams of Albany State University at 1:00 p.m.
