Miles College Lady Bears sign eight basketball student-athletes

Fairfield, AL – The Miles College Lady Bears Head Coach Phillip Wallace signed eight student-athletes to National Letters of Intent to play basketball for the Lady Bears in 2008-09.

2008-09 Miles College Women’s Basketball Signees

(1). Monika Hilson – Birmingham, AL – (6-0, Junior, Forward)
Monika is a junior college transfer student-athlete from Lawson State C.C. in Birmingham, AL. She averaged 25 points and 15 rebounds per game, as well as named to the 06-07 All Conference Team.

(2). Delicia Brianne White – Eufaula, AL – (5-5, Freshman, Guard)
Delicia played at Eufaula High School, where her team won the Class 5A State Championship and she averaged 14 points per game, 4 rebounds and two steals a game.

(3). Toccara Charles – Childersburg, AL – (5-9, Freshman, Point Guard)
Toccara averaged 18 points per game while attending Childersburg High School.

(4). Alicia Ware – Franklin, GA – (5-9, Freshman, Forward)
Alicia comes to the team from Heard County High School, while averaging a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds per game.

(5). Jessica Franklin – Forest Park, GA - (6-0, Freshman, Forward)
Jessica averaged 17 points, 8 rebounds, 5 steals and two assist per game while attending Forest Park High School.

(6). Octavia Ledlow – Brierfield, AL – (6-0, Junior, Forward)
Octavia is a junior college transfer student-athlete from Southern Union College, where she averaged 9 points and 7 rebounds per game.

(7). Brittany Kennedy – Birmingham, AL – (6-0, Junior, Center)
Brittany averaged 9 points and 9 rebounds per game while attending East Mississippi Junior College.

(8). Alicia Reese – Bessemer, AL (6-2, Freshman, Center)
Alicia played at Bessemer Academy and averaged 17 points and 12 rebounds per game.
