Among “D.C.” Crawford many accomplishments is that he is one of the youngest members inducted into the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame. He was also inducted into the School of Music Hall of Fame at Alabama State University, where he earned his Bachelors and Master Degrees in Music Education. “D. C.” Crawford performed with the 291^st and the 283^rd Army Band in Fort Bennett, Georgia. “D. C.” is also the author of “The Wheels of the Birmingham Civil Rights Movement.” The book is the life story of his father, Worcy Crawford, the first-known black bus owner in Alabama, who played a role in the civil rights movement.
